New Brake Pad question

Ok well I found this odd figured I would ask around. I just got new brake pads...poped the old ones off...went to pop the new ones in and I noticed the new ones didn't have the pin. The old pin wouldn't come off so...will it hurt to not have it? Did the auto place give me the wrong brakes? or...what?

Heres a pic of what im talking about:

Yes, you will want that pin.

The old one will come off with some wrestling.

If you break the clip or want to get new ones you can get them in a brake hardware kit. Otherwise just reuse the stock one.

It looks like the new pads wont even accept the peice. I will try to take pictures in a little bit.

Do not do this. The brake pad will rattle around and will have uneven wear along with many other problems.

We can't answer that without a picture or a part number

Well its the same exact pad except on the back it doesnt have the peice that holds the pin. I am gonna go to a different car parts place today and have them pull the pads and see if I have better luck. If that doesn't work I will pull them off the car and take a picture.
