Ceramic Brakes

I know alot of you want to upgrade to huge brakes, but if you want something that works well with the stock stuff, just get some Ceramic Brake pads. They work like a dream. I'm even using them with stock non-cut rotors.

You are still putting a band-aid on the problem. The stock brakes are nothing short of junk.

Ceramic pads also wear-down rotors about 5 times faster than semi-metallics.

Some day if you ever learn physics, you'll understand the value of extra rotor diameter and pad surface area. Until then, ignorance is bliss.

Until you put it on a road course or otherwise use them hard, at which point they typically fade to nothing. I tried Bendix and Raybestos ceramics and they both faded in less than 20 laps on the local track. Vette guys with massive rotors and excellent calipers have reported the same outcome.

They're excellent for street use, though...very little dust, no squeal, and excellent wear life.

Not trashing you for working with what you have, just pointing out the ignorance driving your belief that magic pads make 10.5" rotors and single-piston calipers overcome the laws of physics.

Stock breaks, properly maintained are more then enough for the street. Mine were, after i fixed them. I couldn't ask for more on a stock car.

Ceramic pads also wear-down rotors about 5 times faster than semi-metallics.
I never paid more then 14 dollars for a rotor on my car (the other pair is 12) So what if you replace you rotors as often as you do your pads instead of once every three times (and still pay to get them turned) or whatever you run.

So he noticed an significant improvement over he OE pads with aftermarket pads. This somehow defies the laws of physics? OE pads are JUNK, 95% of the pads out there are better then the junk they made in 83. Don't be so quick to put down someone findings, just because you "experts" know everything.

You guys are quick to judge and mean to anyone who isn't intensly expirienced. It seems you only take people seriously when they have a blown 383 and zo6 rims. The guy liked a product, no need for one of you to douce him in gas and the other flick the match. Im not comming to thirdgen.org anymore.

Stating facts such as," Stock 10.5" brakes suck", or "ceramics were down your rotors faster", or "you're band-aiding a bigger problem" may be a little more direct and different response to the original post than what you expected (and the poster) but I would much prefer an honest, direct response to a post then some of the crap hyperbole that I've been fed here on occassion.
If reality is too harsh for you......

And, good luck with those $14.00 rotors!!
