ever since..

Ever since i started driving the car with the new motor, the brakes have sucked. The peddle is hard as a rock to push down on..usually requiring two feet to stop short. Like the car feels like it has the ability to stop fine..but the peddle is so hard to push. I think it may be my brake booster but im not sure. I drove today and when i popped the hood, brake fluid had come outta the booster and gotten all over the wires and unit itself. any thoughts?

sounds like the brake booster. Check to make sure you properly connected the vacuum hose on the brake booster after installing the new engine. If you have a large cam you may not be pulling enough vacuum at idle and low speeds.

Do you mean the master cylinder reservoir? If fluid is coming out at the brake booster that means you have a bad seal on your master cylinder and your master cylinder and brake booster will have to be replaced.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
brake fluid had come outta the booster
So I guess that was actually vacuum that had leaked all over everything, not brake fluid....

Glad you got it fixed, and easily at that. Brake problems suck.
