9 bolt swap with disc--just need prop valve?
I got a good deal on a 9 bolt rear, caliper to caliper. It needs some minor repairs, but other than that its in good shape. Right now I got the run of the mill 7.5" 10 bolt open 3.08 drummed bastard. The front brakes are still stock, so for now to put the 9 bolt and disc brakes on do I just need a new prop valve for up front? What about the reapportioing valve? will e-brake cables still hook up? I also dont know what to tell the guys at GM when I ask for a new prop valve. The only thing I know is that the rear "supposedly" came out of an 86Z, and I KNOW its got a stock 3.70 posi. Can they go with that, or do I need to get an RPO code?
BTW: What exactly does PBR stand for? Ive seen that for a while, I know its got something to do with rear discs, but thats it.

Check the part numbers, but jsut get one for a car that has the stock fronts with what ever type of rear you have, do you have the 89 and up 11.65 rear disc brake with the PBR calpiers? they are the bigger aluminum ones or do you have the smaller old style ones? if it is a 86 rear and they are stock then you have the old style. Mine came from a 88 and had the old style and I upgrade to teh new ones. the p vavle is one unit. PBR is the style/brand of caliper.

like I said, the only ting I know is that it came off of an 86 Z. as far as the type of calipers, I would have to see the 2 designs to say for sure.
