4th gen front cast iron brakes

I recently picked up a set of 10.5" cast iron front brakes from a 1993 Formula Firebird. These are not the PBR brakes. I got the MC, booster, rotors and calipers. I have searched everywhere, and cannot find out if these components are the same ones that are used in most third gen (non 1LE) F-bodies.

I need to get a set of rear discs, and want to know what I can pull them from. If these are in fact the same, I want to pull a set of rear cast iron brakes from a 3rd gen. I want it all to be "stock" from the same system. (ie, same MC, combination valve) I dont want to use the larger PBR rear discs, as they are too big for my rims, and before anyone suggest bigger brakes, the Delco cast ones will be much better than my current 4 wheel drum set-up, and will be more than adequate for what I plan on using them for.

Thanks in advance.

Chris

You can throw those front brakes in the trash, they're no better that what you have on your car already and won't be any improvement over them. As for your desired rear discs, I'd look for a car from '85-88 and rebuild the calipers prior to installing them.

4 wheel drums? What are you driving?

I have a 1969 Firebird, I have power front/rear drums on the car. It stops fine at anything below 60km/h (40mph), but above that it can be scary. I have driven a 83 Z28 with 4 wheel discs, and it stops much better than my car.

I am basically going to be using this as a daily driver vehicle, and want decent brakes. I am not road-racing it, so I don't need anything larger. I want to keep my 14" rally rims, and don't have much money to spend on this.

Am I correct in assuming that these front calipers/rotors are the same from a third gen?
