Skinnies won't fit over C4 or LS1 brakes so there's no way they'll fit over C5 brakes. I tried. I ended up going with an Aerospace brake package.

You use factory brakes for get something like the Aerospace or Wilwood brake package.
Aerospace kit AC-225

Wilwood kit 140-2992-B

That's about the only upgrade kits that will work with skinnies. I'm only now upgrading my front brakes. The factory brakes can't handle slowing down from 140 mph in the 1/4 mile.

12" C4s would fit skinnies very well, I just think the other kits will be too large.

Possibly using the thin rear disk on the front as in your conversion but I know the LS1 brakes won't work with skinnies. The thick rotor and large caliper just won't fit.

Re: c5 and skinnies
I'm bout to find out if C5's will work. There is clearance, but it's on the order of 1/16" or so. My skinnies need at least a 3/4" spacer to bolt up, but I'm going to most likely go with a 1.5" that should also let me fit a LS1/C5/C6 wheel should I decide to do that later.

Re: c5 and skinnies
ok, so ive been doing my research, and its POSSIBLE to use skinnies and ls1 brakes, with a billet wheel, and a 1/4" spacer or larger (posted in the c5 + spacers + skinnies post in dragracing/autocross), but c5's have a 12.75" rotor, compared to the ls1's 12", but the calipers are the same except minor differences that dont matter in this discussion. the info i cant find is, with the larger rotor, do the c5's have an overall diamerter thats larger than the ls1's, making it impossible to use skinnies with them? and if so,m a solution to that sould be buying ls1 rotors, and using ls1 caliper spacers instead of the c5 ones, but reuse the c5 calipers?

Re: c5 and skinnies
My pics above are C5 rotors and LS1 calipers and brackets. The C5 rotor has a 12.75" diameter, while the LS1's are 12". The only functional difference with the two calipers is the thickness of metal where the bolts hold them onto the caliper bracket. Before doing this, I took my wheels over to a local shop that's working on a C5 to check the fit. The LS1 calipers bolt onto the C5 bracket, and seem to provide better clearance to the wheel than the C5 calipers.

Those are the summit street star 15"x4" wheels in my pic above with the c5 rotor and ls1 caliper in it.

Re: c5 and skinnies
Spacers are needed either way, but C5 calipers will also work, they just seem a touch bigger and I believe need some grinding to get part of the ribs off.

Re: c5 and skinnies
Maybe something changes with the brackets needed to put LS1 brakes on a 3rd gen, but I know on 4th gens you can run skinnies just fine. Some require you to grind the caliper some (not my style but I guess it works), others can bolt right on. I know about 20 different people personally that have or have had skinnies on their stock brake equipped ls1 car.
