brake lines
brake lines
several years ago, i had a rear brake line rust through, and i went every where to find a new one, all the local parts stores, and even the local gm dealership, but nobody had one because it has some sort of goofy connection on the end. it's not a flare fitting, it's more like a rib that runs around the circumference of the line. i ended up just splicing in a repair section to the existing line. now it's time to do a brake job on the car and i wonder if there is a different wheel cylinder i can install that will allow me to use a line with a standard flare fitting. also where can i get a new veci label for my car? the gm dealership is also unwilling to help me with this problem. i dont know what dealership you are dealing with, but they must specialize in lawn mowers because this is ridiculous.
the lines you need are available from many places, classic industries is one.
you can get direct replacement lines for disc or drum rears in ss or steel, with or without the BW 9 bolt,
25-35$ depending on material.
the flare is called a double flare.
just check them out and get a catalog. they have just about everything you need to fix uip your car.
