E-Brake handle doesn't stay up

Axle/Gears: 3.73 10 bolt
E-Brake handle doesn't stay up
Hey guys. I've searched through the emergency brake threads, but most of them correspond to the e-brake not engaging. When I pull the handle up, it does stop the car. It just doesn't click in and stay up.
I wouldn't care, but its preventing me from passing inspection. Is this problem back at the brakes, or up at the handle?

Remove the console and lube the ratchet mechanism. One look at it and you won't have any trouble figuring out what's wrong with it.

You guys were right- the handle needed to be lubed. I wish all repairs were this easy!
