yes the LS1 brakes will fit with 16 inch wheels,(i "think" the only ones that dont fit are the trans-am/firebird crosslace wheels) and yes the total cost is with modded spindles, everything.
i bought all rotors, caliper brackets, calipers from a totaled 2000 camaro in my local area to save a little money for total cost build($180.00). so i have used rotors and brake calipers, but new --modded spindles, brackets, hubs ($399.99 shipped already assembled)-- and then about $20.00 more bucks for new front brake lines and brake fluid. so right around $600.00 total cost.
i will be ordering Hawks brake pads all the way around, with new rotors in a month or so.
also i am still needing e-brake cables but otherwise thats it.
theres one thing i didnt mention, I have 4th gen rear-end 1994 LT1(rear disc) that i installed about 2 months ago, which had the older LT1 rear pbr calipers. so i just put in LS1 rear brakes on since its just a bolt on swap.
but the fronts there is no was no changes from the factory setup

I bought my kit from www.bigbrakeupgrade.com and have nothing but great reveiws for this kit. It looks great and stopping power is awsome. I also recommend the Earls braided stainless lines, and solo bleeders.

Used bigbrakeupgrade.com for my parts. Their spinde/hub/bracket assembly was super nice. Came pre-assembled... Bearings and seals were already in. Plus..it comes with the longer wheel studs. Great price...great customer service...great product!

Installed...

Rotor installed as well as caliper cradle. Also the skulte 1.7" adapter...

Caliper mounted up...

Rear brakes are LS1 as well...but those dont count because they were installed on the 4th gen strange 12bolt I used...with old rotors of course...I cleaned up and used new rotors, but no pic.

And here is just a side shot to show the rotors behind the 4th gen wheels.

By far the best upgrade to my car's performance next to the LS1 of course

Andres is the man. Talked to him several times...once was for a truck application and I wasnt going to buy something, I just called him for advice. Great guy, great service, awesome product. 2000 miles on my spacers and I just checked the torque and they are still dead on.

Thank you
Thanks a million gettocruiser for the wheel spacer website , i had them i like 3 days, already got em and they are perfect, wheels fit much better in the fenders(0.300 makes a huge difference). now i can lower her 1" inch and feel safer!
as for everyone else those are some nice pics, i was thinking of painting te calipers & brackets black and adding the "CAMARO" sticker from bigbrakeupgrade, since his spindle assy's...work flawlessly
OH yeah for those looking to upgrade soon its the best upgrade to to our cars dollar for dollar. stoping has never been so easy.
also you can go and get parts house to replace consumables like rotors and brake pads, even wheel bearings, seals are replaceable too!!!

why would you want ABS, when you can just slide into another car to stop.
or do what i do dodge the car and preform a frantic run for ditch, or middle island.

The ABS issue has been gone over and over and over. Its not practical...and it might not even be possible...tho I found a way that it might work. It invovles a custom machined tone ring and a lot of figuring... I had all of the ABS parts from the donor car to try it, but didnt want to go through all that mess.
And the reason for having ABS wasnt for stopping in my case..it as for traction control. Thought it would be a nice feature to carry over. However now that Ive been driving the car, I dont need it
I guess I was just nervous when i was about to triple my power...

Wouldn't there be a way to make it work? I dont'w know much about LS1 brakes, but can't a stock thirdgen hub be machined to accept LS1 rotors? S10 brake parts are the same and some had ABS, so machine it down, and you have the tone wheel. Can you use a stock dust shield? If so, then an S10 one can be used. THe rest I've researched and it'd work. Rear uses VSS, well since I have a 4L60E that part is solved. I'd just need to run the wiring, install the solenoids, and an extra brake line for the rear. Of course, this is all in my head after about 2 days research. I'd like any input

Ok... That is pretty much the only way to do it. With the S10 2WD hubs. However...if you threw that all together and hooked it all back up, those tone rings wont throw out the correct pulses or pulse timing.
The tone ring on a 4th gen hub is inside. I mention the 4th gen hub because in order to use a abs system, its the closest car to ours that would work. There are more dynamics to the system than just speed sensors and pulses. The car's properties have to be close to the donor car. Here is a good thread to read up on....
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...t=4th+gen+hubs
I was getting ready to have a custom set of tone rings machined that should have produced the correct pulse...but after some figuring I realized that even they wouldnt work.
But read up on it. If you figure out a way to pull it off SAFELY and effectively..you'll be the first!

can someone tell me the length of the longer wheel studs on the ordered hubs? i ordered a few things i needed from bigbrakeupgrade but need to order studs for my hubs....so far i have about 110 in my swap, should clear under 200 no problem just need to turn down hubs and put in studs and bearings....btw the pics are great
Re: Calling All LS1 BRAKE UPGRADES LETS SEE EM
Did any of you guys that did the ls1 rear disc swap find a way to get the E brake to work? I am in the process of doing a front brake upgrade and my rear discs are a pain and wanted to upgrade them too. Does the backing plate bolt up or is there some modifications that are needed to make it fit? Thanks for the input anything will help. Those pics look awsome can't wait to get them on.

Those C5 brakes look much better dont they?? Makes our stock brakes look like drink costers.
I thought it was funny how the LS1 rear calipers and rotors were just about the same size as my stock WS6 front calipers and rotors. haha....

Is the spacer used only b/c of your wheels?(4th gen right?) Just curious b/c I want to keep my wheels stock and bigbrakeupgrade.com didn't mention that I'd need spacers.
And what's your opinion on the bilstien struts/shocks? I've heard they won't work with Spohn's coil over kit but I may need to replace mine before I can afford the conversion(or for that matter the fronts are 167K old).

Re: Calling All LS1 BRAKE UPGRADES LETS SEE EM
I know this thread calls to see all LS1 upgrades. But how about I post an upgrade for a current LS1 brake car? This kit was designed for a fourth gen LS1 upgrade and is installed on a third gen. I have been running it for several years now. 4pot fixed calipers, internal parking drum brake, 12.2" 2 pc rotors.
This is a very powerful kit and you'd better have fronts to match or the rears are just going to lock much sooner and an adjustable prop valve will need to be installed to turn them way back down.

Re: Calling All LS1 BRAKE UPGRADES LETS SEE EM
djwimbo: Yes the spacer is only there because I am running 4th gen wheels. Becareful of what 3rdgen wheels you try to use, because some of them wont fit with the bigger brake set up. My GTA wheels wouldnt clear....barely. Not the reason I upgraded to 4th gen wheels... You can get a stock GM spacer that went on the drums of our cars. But your front wheels are going to stick out slightly compared to what they are now.
As for your other question. Bilstiens and coilovers are completely differnt things... You cant have a Bilstein struts and then coilovers. Its one or the other. However, I LOVE my bilsteins. They made the car ride soooo nice. Its a comfy ride, but they soak up the bumps really really well. My y-pipe hangs super low...and they never alow it to bottom out on the road.

Re: Calling All LS1 BRAKE UPGRADES LETS SEE EM
Thanks for the info.
I know coilovers are completely different, but a set of struts alone can be pricey (at least what I'm used to - darn forgien cars). Then again a coilover conversion is pricey too($600).
From what I've read my wheel will work with the brake upgrade. They're stock 5 spoke 16"s for the RS. as for what I've read, via bigbrakeupgrade, the "crosslace" styles are the ones with fitment issues. If I'm reading that correctly that'd be ones that came in 'gold' on some models and look similar to those of old Bonnevilles.
What am I missing about the spacer for the drums? I've heard there's a factory installed spacer for RS's w/ the 16" wheel option. I have a spacer in the rear - maybe 3/16". Is that what you're talking about? They came with the car, and I figured if they're on there, I'll leave 'em, it's not like it's effecting my alignment any. ... come to think of it, the backspacing on the rears is different from the front anyway. I'm slightly confused.

The thin spacer on the rear is for if you have iron drums . It makes the wheels sit the same as aluminum drums . If your RS wheels are the same as my Z's there's no problem . There's some pics back in this post .

Can you provide details on this? I have a stock 88 IROC and, the brakes suck. How do you get spindle and bracket free? What do you need to modify the hubs? What has to be done to them specifically? Finally what cars can the used calipers be pulled from? If I could do this around $300 it sounds like it would help. Thanks alot

I have Ed's LS1 kit on my OEM GTA rims:

Crappy pic of the brakes (best I have while Car Domain is down).
Really tight fit with these rims. No room for counter balance weights on the inside of the rim.
