HELP! Parking brake in rearend swap
I'm currently trying to swap rear axle assemblies between two Firebirds, but I'm unsure as to how best to disconnect the parking brake cable. Should it be disconnected from the wheel or from the lever? I would like to avoid removing the entire cable if possible, but that sounds more appealing than getting into the brake drums. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

if you want to take them off the handle side, there are retainers that snap into brackets in the drive shaft tunnel, get them unsnapped there and then you should be able to unhook them from the puller assembly.

I purchased a tool, but I've heard that you can snug a zip tie around the tines tightly enough to slip the cable free.
