Hawk HPS didn't work out for me.

Hi Guys. I am posting here to let people know to beware of Hawk Performance HPS pads. I've got a 91 Camaro Z28 with a single piston disc brake caliper with rear drums. I had the Hawks installed three weeks ago with no noise at a brake shop. Three days ago, I started hearing a "tick-tick-tick" when I lightly applied the brake pedal. Yesterday, I found out the driver's side out pad had up and down play so I adjusted it by pushing down on the tabs to center it. The ticking didn't go away. I took it to another shop this afternoon and they showed me the inner driver's side pad had movement on it and installed the shoe retainer spring for inner pad-the ticking didn't go away. So I opted to go with another set of brake pads. I went with the Bendix Posi Quiet and no ticking, that leads me to believe that I got a set of defective pads. I just want let people know that Hawk does make mistakes and hopefully won't run into the same situation I did.

I would hope Hawk would make good on them considering they are a expensive pad set.

Well, I called them to tell them my situation and I was told to send proof that it was their defective pad either by taking photos or sending a video via e-mail to for a warranty claim. They also said that it was not their pad that it was my calipers that could have been bad. So, anyway, I didn't bother to send proof. Maybe sometime in the future I may purchase them, but as of now, I am discourage about their product.
