ok so my parking brake doesn't work,i bought new cables installed them and the properly adjusted it just like my Haynes book said,i tightened the equalizer under the middle of the car until it came off the stops on the caliper and then loosened it until it just touched the stop.I hear 15 clicks when i pull the handle in the car just as the book said i am supposed to hear about 14-15 click ,but the wheel still wont lock. They still turn as if it were not engaged. but if i push on the lever thats suppose to engage it, hard enough, it will lock the wheel. What should i do?
Thanks Cameron
ps it is a 4 wheel disc car .86 IROC-Z

Tighten the adjuster a little at a time until they work.

I remember my 87 iroc when I did the brakes the first time I could not get them adjusted right. I could put the car up on jack stands put it in gear and with me holding the brakes on the rear wheels would still turn. I never got it sorted and took it to 2 shops after we exhausted all other avenues. We ended up putting after market brakes all the way around when we built it and never had the problem again.
