Caliper Mounting Deisgn, stock, Pin's take how much force?

Caliper Mounting Deisgn, stock, Pin's take how much force?
So on a stock disc front brake setup.... how much force do the pins see and how much force does the spindle flange (where it meets the side of the caliper) see? Shouldn't the pin's take the brunt of the force? Are the spindle flanges just there for pin failure, or does the pin flex acutally put the weight on the spindle?
I built some brackets to adapt my stock brakes to a project car (non-thirdgen) and have 1/16" gap between the caliper and bracket. Trying to figure out if I need to take them off and add some meat to it.

The calipers float on the pins via little rubber O-rings or bushings or whatever you want to call them. Therefore it's not hard to see:
The pins take zero force. The spindle takes 100% of the force. All the pins are there for, is to keep the caliper from falling out.
Yeah I would say a 1/16" gap is too much. I'd shoot for well under half that.
