Rear Drum to Disk
Rear Drum to Disk
Hi,
I'v searched the boards, but can't seem to find an answer to my question. I just put new wheels on my car, and want to change out my rear drum breaks to disks because they look alot better. I'm not looking for performance breaks because its just a basic commuter car, and do not want to exchange out my rear end for it. I also want to have matching front breaks. My wheels are 17", and I want the best looking disks/calipers. All I know right now is that I want drilled/slotted rotors, and want my calipers powder coated in red. What is the best option for this conversion? What is the best size for appearance with 17" wheels? Any idea what looks the best? What parts do I need? How much will the total conversion for the rear disk breaks cost, and how much will it cost for the matching fronts?
Thanks

Well. I can tell ya that a conversion kit costs around $900 which is why I chose not to swap mine out. But, I'm not gonna say that it's a bad idea. I just don't mind working on drum brakes.

Link doesn't work but the rear disc conversion is no where near $900, obviously depending on where you get it. PM me and I'll get you a much more economical price on it, glad to help.
Jerzies, get with me on what wheels you have and what kits you'd be interested in and I'll get you a full quote.
