Another 4th Gen Parking Brake Question

I've searched throughout but can't find an answer to my problem. I swapped in a 4th gen axle this weekend into my 91 RS. The brakes came off a 94 Trans Am. After doing research on here I read that you could get the parking brake cables from a 90-92 Camaro that would work without modifications. I got the long ones (1460mm) but they are too long. The extra length is where the cable mounts to the caliper and hooks to the parking brake lever. There is about 3-4" of excess cable. Of all the pictures I've seen on here of 4th gen calipers, none look like mine. Mine have PBR on the caliper but have there is a 2-3" diameter round disc that is probably 0.5" -1" thick that hangs towards the center of the car (sorry I don't have a picture at the moment). Can any one help me out?

The part in question is a vibration dampener. No experience with fourthgen rears; however, the LTI PBR's, with the exception the dampener, are similar to 89-92 PBR's which I'm running in my thirdgen 10-bolt. I'm using e-brake cables from CarQuest (P/N BRK 8788, 1st design, 1434 mm).
