Ok i am replacing the rear hoses with earls braided lines and for the center hose where it connects to the body it kinked at the fitting.
Carquest does not have what i need. I would like to replace the whole line from the proportioning valve all the way to that flex hose so i need to know what sizes they are.
The line i think is metric 6mm. I found a fitting at car quest that will screw into the flex hose but its for a 3/16 bubble flare. They do not have 1/4" or 6mm for that fitting...so i'm not sure what to do. The line is not in bad shape and if i can get away just flaring the line and adding a union i will...but let me know what you guys think.
The fitting that goes to the flex hose is a 12 - 1.0 thread.
What size is the fitting at the proportioning valve?

I found at my NAPA store some adapter lines in various lengths with various sized fittings on either end, including metric to SAE.
In my rear end swap, I removed the metric fitting from the chassis line and flared on an SAE nut with no problems.

I think he's saying that he mangled the end of one of the hard lines while trying to loosen it. That's what tubing wrenches are for......every once in a while I sure wish I had some.Originally Posted by JamesC

Not sure how its going to work with a metric fitting though, i have to keep that fitting in order to use earls lines.Originally Posted by Al Hasse

Ya i kinked the fitting that goes into the hose. Not part of the earls hose itself.Originally Posted by JamesC

I used PB and a flare, it just happens sometimes...Originally Posted by afremont

Well, im not coming up with anything around my area, looks like im going to ask the dealer. Places around here only have 10mm fittings no 12mm "we've never seen or heard of 12mm".
I tried to tap the old part of the line stuck in the fitting out but that didnt work so i drilled it out, the line appears to be 1/4" so i drilled a 1/4" hole for that. Cut the old section out and the fitting will go over so now i guess i will just try to flare it and see if it leaks or not.
Really wish i could just order this fitting...

Of course you could just replace the whole line -- contact Fine Lines, Inc.
