89 Brake line replacement

I was going to replace all my brake lines with stainless sometime after reinforcing the subframe. However, I now need to do it 1st.

Before I get started I wanted to ask how many lines their are to replace the whole system? I just found the leak and had to finish a project on my truck before I got started on this.

I am replacing all the hardlines in solid stainless and all the soft lines in braided stainless.

Re: 89 Brake line replacement

depends on what brakes you have.

there are 2 lines for the front brakes, 1 line front to back, 2 lines on the axle. 2 flex lines on the front, 1 to the t block of the axle to body, then possible 2 one the axle if you have discs.

Re: 89 Brake line replacement

I got an 89 RS with rear drums. I was underneath it the other day and found the leak on the line going to the drivers side drum. didn't start on it though, I was taking off the rear swaybar (the end link bolts were GONE!) Brake lines are next.
