What year brake proportioning valve works???

Transmission: 4L80 4000, T56
Axle/Gears: 4.30 M12, 23.42 10 bolt
What year brake proportioning valve works???
I have a 85 firebird and in need of a proportioning valve i guess, it will not allow the f/r brake to work, and it will lock up, i assume the next step since replacing the calipers is this valve, will this one work you think? It sais to 84 but looks identical:
