Simple question
The car I have does not have E-brake cables installed. I got new rear cables for it (this is a 10-bolt drum brake rear end 1990 model year) but, I'm embarrased to say I don't know which way the cables go on. Does the side with the spring go in the drum, or is it the opposite side? I don't have a manual here to reference and I hate to feel like a Noob, but I'd rather get it right the first time. Thanks to anyone who can tell me.

Re: Simple question
The side of the cable with the spring goes inside the bottom of the drums. I find it easiest to release the two shoe retaining clips to pull the shoes away from the backing plate and use needle nose vise grips to compress and hold back the spring to allow room to place the retainer on the e brake lever behind the brakes.
