Brake Vacuum Cannister

Anyone running a separate Brake Vacuum cannister
because of cam overlap and is it worth the trouble.

Running pretty good cam and loose converter and down
low does keep you on your toes at time.
Running 10-11# at idle and 2 or 3 more would work
nicely.
Idle at 975 helps a little.

Any input on 2nd tank appreciated

Re: Brake Vacuum Cannister

Thanks for info.
Now all I have to do is find a place for it
Running out of room real fast.
Don't want to set it up to far from the intake and the
booster.
Probably get the polished tank and try to run AN fittings
and braided line. If going to clutter engine bay up, might
as well make the junk look good.
Like neat and simple.
Any pics of setups??

Re: Brake Vacuum Cannister

here it is, there is really nowhere to put it up near the booster, and i had room here. I was going to try to install it under the nose, or in the spring pocket ( im using coil-overs), but there is no good way to get hose to those locations. I just used rubber hose, i think its radiant heating hose so its really tough stuff, i may try to run -an once i find adapters for the booster and check valve on the can itself.

Re: Brake Vacuum Cannister

That looks real clean.
I still want to retain my cruise control so might not
work there.
Have my charcol cannister there also but not hooked
up so may remove it and see if enough room.

Running Morrison front coil overs and spring pocket
an idea also
Checked, not enough room in spring bucket so will work
where charcoll canister goes and under electronics.
Thanks.

86TA,

As to using AN fitting to Can and booster all you
would need is the clamp type AN ends as connections
under negative pressure.

Rotate the clamps so you can't see them.
Also see your running Braided on your Power Steering
box. What AN ends??

Going to use #8 line if I can on can and booster.
Just a thought.

i dont like the clamp on connectors, i had some in the past and they didnt fit the hose well and looked cheeeeeep.

PS box, 16mm and 18mm o-ring x6an powerflex fittings from Russel.

8an would be a good idea, the check valve on the can has a rather large barbed end and 6an will not work on it, same with the brake booster.

Re: Brake Vacuum Cannister

Looking at the picture, it appears that there is just a single hose going to the vacuum canister. Did you just place a "T" in the line from the plenum to the brake booster?
