Sound like a bad wheel bearing?

Right now I have a squeeling noise coming from my front end that does not go away when I apply the brakes. The noise seems to go up with the speed of the car (does not go up with RPMs), it is definitely constant at lower speeds, and I can't really hear it at higher speeds (I have a poly-graphite tranny mount, I plan on swapping it out for a rubber one once I get my SFCs installed). I also have some clunks coming from the front end, but I'm hoping that once I get a rubber tranny mount in place they will be more evident and easier to distinguish. I've had a recent alignment and new ball joints installed at the time.

Of course, I didn't pay much attention to my manual when I was checking it out, but here is what I found.

I removed the front wheels and one side had a noticeable "clunk" when I would spin the rotor (wheel removed) forward, wait, then spin reverse. The drivers side had a greater "clunk" than the passenger side, it seemed to echo throughout the spindle/control arm. I would assume that the only piece that would cause a "clunk" would be the bearings. Should there be no noise coming from them if I spin them forward/backward?
(As you have guessed, I forgot to try the in-and-out test with them)

The bearings were repacked when I had my front brakes done (by a mechanic), however I also noticed that there was grease that must have come out of my dust cap on both sides, because my hands were greasy from touching the hub.

Do you think from what I've posted that I should be looking at replacing my bearings? If so, what are the brands I should look for?
