diagram for modifying spindles for LS1 brakes?
Anyone have a diagram for how to do this? Measurements?
Also, does anyone have some good close up pictures of how the brackets from Ed Miller mount up? I just got them in the mail but there's no instructions so I'm kinda lost lol

This is the diagram that I have saved on my computer. After staring at it for a while I decided to just send my spindles to Ed because I didn't want to ruin them. Also, here is a website I had saved showing how to modify the spindles:

Spohn sells (or used to sell) a CD detailing the mod, which is straightforward and can be done with basic hand tools and a little care.

I sent you the pic last night...did you get my e-mail? If not, here ya go. It's on page 3 of the install guide. I know it's not the exact spindle we have but I'm sure you get the idea:

Oh one other question I did have...do you absolutely have to use the spacer washers in between the spindle and the brackets? And also, the diagram doesn't show a nut being used on the bolts that mount the bracket to the spindle. Is there no nut used?

You must use the spacer washers to properly locate the caliper abutment over the rotor. They won't give you any problems but be sure to use threadlocker on the abutment bolts to keep them from loosening.
The spindle is tapped to the bolts thread into it and use no nuts. Use threadlocker on these as well. I recommend red on the spindle bolts and blue on the abutment bolts.

Re: diagram for modifying spindles for LS1 brakes?
Me? I haven't gotten one.
Well I got the spindles modified and filed down last night, tomorrow I'm going to drill out the holes for the brackets and tap them with a 7/16"-14 thread and then I'll be ready to rock and roll. I think I've about got all my parts gathered except for new codder pins for the tie rods and the washers for behind the custom brackets. Other than that, I've got everything I need to hopefully get it finished (or at least 99% finished tomorrow).

Re: diagram for modifying spindles for LS1 brakes?
Thanks a lot for the help. I actually finished the swap late last night and took it for a drive around my neighborhood and it seems to be working great. I didn't hear any wierd noises which is a good thing, and it brakes nice and smooth. They look good too. Now my rear rotors aren't bigger than my fronts! (I have LS1 brakes on the back of the car too lol)
