earl braided hoses worth it or not?

earl braided hoses worth it or not?
just curious, i have read a lot of info in the searches that I have done on here. Some say yes upgrade, and others no because of failure. How many have really failed? Just looking to upgrade over stock but sounds like there are quite a few who are leary about these hoses. thanks for any input!

You must be thinking of the Russel lines. I havent heard anything bad about the Earls lines. I got them on my car.
Honestly, I wouldent upgrade unless your old ones are broke, or in real shabby shape.

I got Earl's brake lines on both of my cars. I didn't notice any difference on my V6 that has stock brakes. They are better than the stock rubber hoses and if you are going to replace hoses, you might as well upgrade.

if your stock ones arent already messes up go outside with some dykes and cut and never look back. i got em and i love em although i did have to trim em a little off the ends to make em fit but IMO well worth the $100

definitely worth the investment. Its Russel's lines that seem to have issues

I've tried them and didnt notice anything. I use rubber hose.

What is the difference ? You can't feel any difference in the brake pedal , braided lines wont make you car stop any quicker , braided lines do the same exact job as rubber lines without any performance gains !
The factory rubber lines are good for 100,000 + miles and are half the price , not to mention I can look at the rubber lines and get a good idea how they're holding up , braided lines get dirty and look the same until the day they die. ( I'm not saying they're going to fail I'm just bringing up the visual inspection aspect )

I wouldn't hesitate to get Earl's braided hoses. If you're going to do any upgrades to your brake system, you might as well use the best supporting components you can. Braided lines will increase braking performance!
Don't buy Russel's lines though, or else your pride and joy may end up looking like this:

If you're just keeping the car stock, feel free to replace the rubber hoses with new rubber hoses, they'll work fine too!

I have a mixture of Earl's, XRP and Aeromotive. I am finally taking step by step pics with part #'s and "how to". When completed I will post. Hopefully, it will help someone out.

If your just talking about a street car, then replacing stock for stock is more than adequete.
When you drive something like mine, a dedicated road race type car, then you upgrade everything, including the brake hoses.

When you can consistantly hit 110 - 120mph down a front straightaway and must brake down to about 50mph to make that corner that someone stuck at the end of that loooong straight, lap after lap, all the equipment must be up for the task.
