using Vaccuum Guage to test Brake Booster...

I've never used a vaccum guage before, but bought one this week. I want to test the Brake Booster. What numbers should I be able to see and do I need the engine running, brake system warm, or hook-up issues???

Is there any way to use a Vaccuum guage on the master cylinder?

The issue is having to shove peddle HARD to get very little braking. I got an all new 4-wheel disc setup from Ed Miller and it barely made much of a difference. The only parts that havn't been changed is the M/C & Booster.

Oh, I did notice that the power steering reseviour is seeping. Should I be looking at possible part upgrades for these 3 items or will Napa Auto/GM parts be the best available (we sure have ugly looking master cylinders!)
I'd appreciate your thoughts. Nitro-Nicky

You shouldn't be so much looking for a specific number so much as seeing if it will hold pressure.
But you will want somewhere around a min of 25.
