aerospeed front brakes

Has anyone had experience with the Aerospace front brake upgrades for a 3rd gen street car? I have been considering upgrading my 88 Iroc front and rears. I already have purchased the 1LE setup for the rear, but not installed it yet. These Aerospace setups look to be more cost effective than some of the others like the 1LE etc.
Do you need spindle modifications? Are they easy to install?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Mark

I did a search on TGO and the net without success. Can you provide a link?

Re: aerospeed front brakes

James,
I don't know what I was thinking when I put Aerospeed. I meant to put "Aerospace" brakes. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Mark

I thought perhaps another manufacturer was throwing in its hat . Sorry, I have no experience with Aerospace, though I seem to recall that Aerospace and drag racing went hand-in-hand, but, hey, I'm old, so who knows if that's correct or not. I'm sure someone will pipe in.

Re: aerospeed front brakes

Aerospace= Drag brakes, small diameter and thin rotors. They may offer good stuff for those applications but you don't want them on a street car. There are other options out there. What size wheels are you running?

Re: aerospeed front brakes

Ed,

They have a "heavy duty" setup that has larger thicker vented rotors for the street applications. I am running a stock 16" Iroc rim on my '88. These are in my price range is why I have interest in them. I am looking for a set to go with my PBR rear setup that I am going to install. Do you have anything in the $675 area shipped?
By the way Ed, I am looking for the Earl's brake line for the center rear that you posted. I replied to your post wanting three of them last week. Please let me know.

Re: aerospeed front brakes

I'm behind in PM replies, sorry, I'll get one to you later tonight.

I have a C4 kit in that range, complete with spindles, bearings, braided lines, and all. I'm curious as to what you get for the price they have listed. I did find the Pro Street kits they offer for $710 and up but they didn't state whether they came with spindles, bearings, braided lines, etc. I suggest you get the full parts breakdown and see what you can get for that price, then shop around.

I put them om my car, easy to install and great stopping power with 4 pistons, They come complete, spindles, bearings, caliper brackets, shims, brake pad, all grade 8 hardware. The only thing they do not come with is brake lines. I bought mine for just over 600.00

Re: aerospeed front brakes

If your going to go the aerospace route do it for the weight! Other than that you can find other more friendly alternatives.

Thanks for all your input on these brakes. It seems to me that the C4 setup is one of the most friendly alternatives to use for performance and value.
Is the C4HD worth the extra? The car is not a track car, but I like good stopping brakes?

Mark, I have never tried the C4 so I can't judge, but I have the Aerospace brakes on my car, and they have great stopping power with the 4 piston Calipers. A couple friends have had them om their street cars for a couple of years and have had zero problems with them, one of these people their car is street and strip and loves them. My car is street only. I have aerospace on the front and Wilwood on the back. The aerospace are quiet and the Wilwood I find noisey
