trying to avoid future brake problems

I got a 89 firebird formula and sometimes when the car has not been started for a while (3-5 days) and finally I take it out the brakes are really sensitive for a while like the first 3 stops (it stops really hard)...I was just wondering what could be causing that and what I need to do

Ever happened to anyone else?

Two possible.

Most likely:

H2O condensation — no need to do anything.

OR

Brake fluid or grease getting on pads — less likely do to the fact you are not reporting the lockup of one wheel.
