Re: Brake bleeding problem???

Is the pedal going all the way to the floor? Are the bleeders open all the way? Is the resevoir capped.......just dumb questions but try the stupid/simple stuff first

Re: Brake bleeding problem???

the flex hoses break down internally , acting like a check valve . they can stop press. from passing or returning . ( happened to me ) they are keyed rt. & lt. , change them and you will be o.k. . might consider also change hose/hoses on the rear . a good flush of the entire system may also be in order . brake fluid that is NOT contaminated is clear , fluid that is not is not . good luck .

Re: Brake bleeding problem???

hmmmm... I'm having the same problem, but my rubber lines are brand new. I can pull out the bleeder, but don't get any fluid.....

Edit: Took off the new lines at the caliper, they're fine. Thought it was the caliper until I took off the bleeder & gave it several hard & fast pumps. I ended up with a puddle on the floor, but figured it out.

Re: Brake bleeding problem???

The proportioning valve acts as a safety shutoff when there is a gross leak in either the front or rear brakes. It will travel to one end and prevent fluid movement to the low pressure side. To get past this you can either manually return the PV piston to the neutral position by pressing against the black rubber "button" at the rear end of the valve and gravity bleed the rear brake system to remove air and restore pressure. Or you can continue pumping the brake pedal until enough fluid moves past the valve to create pressure in the rear brake system. Youll know when the valve returns to neutral by pedal feel. Then continue brake bleeding.
