FRONT SPINDLE? WHAT IS THAT?

FRONT SPINDLE? WHAT IS THAT?

so im looking into buying my 1st firebird, its an 89. im buying it off of a fellow marine before he heads over to afghanistan, and he told me it needs a spindle where the rotor is on the front passenger side...can anybody give me some guidance to what it would take to replace this part?

you have to jack up the front of the car, support the a-arm. Remove the brakes, caliper and rotor. Unbolt the tie-rod, remove the strut. Remove the nut from the lower balljoint, use a pickle fork to remove the spindle. Reverse to re-install the new one.


Make absoultly sure the issue is the spindle and not subframe damage. The spindles are really tought parts and breaking or damaging them takes a lot. If the spindle was broken, chances are there is more damage to the subframe/k-member.

or better question, why does he say it needs a new spindle?
