Jack the car up. Grab the wheel at the 10 and 4 position and try to wiggle the wheel/tire. If there's movement, the wheel bearing is probably the culprit.

Re: brake problem

ok. i jacked the car up, theres no wiggle room there solid. i noticed that if i grab the wheel and spin itll only free spin for maybe a 1/2 to 3/4 turn and then stop. it does it with both the front wheels. while doing it theres a slight rubbing/grinding of metal to metal. is that normal? are my calipers still in the closed position? thanks

Re: brake problem

i looked at it again and the pads are sitting on the rotors. there new calipers, what will cause them not to retract? is my master cylinder failing or is it another problem?

There'll be a slight brushing/scrapping sound from the pads lightly touching the rotors. Normal.

Re: brake problem

try pulling the caliper off one side and spin the wheel to eliminate the bearings (they may be too tight and coming apart) .
