squeal squeak

so i get the brake grind squeal squeak blues here. took off the wheels looked at the pads and rotors all good in the front. took off the back wheel drums and shoes are all good. it doesnt make noise all the time just sometimes. i remember when i did my front brakes a while ago i lost a spacer i think in the front passenger side caliper. and i went under way for 6 months shortly after that. the rotors had a light coat of surface rust on them. the rust is gone as i have driven the car. would that missing spacer be the cause of my squeal sqeak grind? i can get one made easily if i need to.
