HELP.. is the bracket backwards on my new 10bolt?
The caliper mount is already shimmed with 2 thick washers and the rotor is still rubbing heavily. Is there a possibility the flanges that the brackets bolt to are backwards. You can see in the pics there is an offset(@1/4") on the flange. Ive searched and searched but didnt see any pics of a pbr 10 bolt with the same type of flanges so I can compare. Thanks guys

No offense here, but are you sure you have a 10 bolt? Those look like 9 bolt backing plates and they appear to be installed backwards. I have a 9 bolt lying in the yard I can look at later today. Here's another shot:

Second, was/is the rear a stock drum rear? Those are Baer rotors...what year are they for? Rotors are slightly different from '89-92 and '93-97.
Third, please check the rotor OD for me. Stock 3rd gen rear discs are 11.6" and those look too close to the abutment to be stock size.
LMK.

Re: HELP.. is the bracket backwards on my new 10bolt?
The diff is defenitely a 10 bolt, it came complete with stock rotors and pads when I bought it and the rotors moved okay if I remember. The rotors came off a Baer brake kit I sold along time ago. I assumed they were the same..... the stockers are long gone. Can I grind the pbr caliper brackets? I really dont want to pull the axles to swap the mounting brackets.
edit just ran out to the garage ,, the rotors are 12",, Id really hate to get rid of them since I have a set of new crossdrilled prostop rotors for the front. Can I make them work or am I SOL

Re: HELP.. is the bracket backwards on my new 10bolt?
Don't take this wrong but given the correct information and a relatively simple solution, why would you want to hack up good parts to try and get parts to fit when they don't? Pulling axles on a 10 bolt is practically effortless once you get the rearend jacked up. You're looking at 1 hour of work tops.
Baer rotors are full 12", not 11.6" so why not just get the right ones for your brakes and not grind anything?
If you must have drilled and slotted rotors, I'll swap you straight over for a set of < 100 mile 11.6" drilled/slotted/zinc washed rear rotors that I have on hand. I'm installing a larger set onto my rear axle.
Trying to help, LMK.

Re: HELP.. is the bracket backwards on my new 10bolt?
Ill have to research how to pull the axles, autozone wants $95 a piece for stock 11.6 rotors but I can get new c/d rotors from summit for $120 a pair. I priced the baers and there frikin $230 a piece
. Depending on what itll cost me to ship these to you I wouldnt be against a straight up trade instead of me trying to sell these to recoup my $ spent on new rotors.

I'm sure we could work something out, PM me if you'd like to discuss it.
You could also just get 10 bolt backing plates for 12" rotors and use what you have, those plates run ~ $70-75/pr.

Awesome write up James, thank you very much. Ed would the larger rotors and brackets work with my GTA 16" wheels?
