stuck drum
stuck drum
The rear drums will not come off my ta, I have tried backing off the adjusters for the shoes but still won't budge.
Is there a puller i can get to pullthe drum off easier?
which way do i roll the adjuster on the backside to move the shoes inward, downward ?

Bang The Drum Slowly
Up.
(Against the lever pressing against the star wheel which prevents the wheel from loosening the shoes.)
If the lever is functioning well you’ll have to lift it while adjusting.
You can tell what the problem is by the feel.
If you can move the drum in and out a little your problem is the shoes are preventing the removal.
If you can’t move the drum in and out at all your problem is the drum is rusted/seized.
Yes, pullers are sold for drums.

Re: stuck drum
I gave up and going to try again next week.
they seem to move some in and out, the wheels were a super pain to get off they were stuck to the drums big time, had to kick on them like crazy from behind.
if i stick a screw driver in the hole of the backing plate angled pointing down at the bottom and move the adjuster inside upwards ( down on the handle ) will that loosen the shoes ? same direction for both sides ?

If yes, it’s the shoes which are preventing drum removal.
If no, the drums are rusted on.
