Brake differences of the Perf. Package?

I have to get my trans am back onto the road without my shaky brakes. The standard option is ~$40 a rotor or the performance package option of ~$90 a rotor. WTH? are the brake rotors really any different? Am I able to use the regular rotors on my 88 formula? front*

thanks for any help, I really have to pinch my pennies now. Tubular control arms and suspension sucked up most of it.

the performance ones are for 1le b4c cars, you can use the standard ones, unless you car is a 1le, but thats really doubtful. the 1le cars had 2 piston aluminum front calipers and larger rotors.

As 86 mentions, it's very unlikely that you have the 1LE package. Take a peek. My guess is that you have 10.5" rotors and iron Delco-Moraine calipers. There's a pic of the 1LE's in my vbGarage (lower left).

Re: Brake differences of the Perf. Package?

They are the 10.5 rotors with the standard/usual single piston calipers that all of my TAs had. I just dont know how to tell if this Formula has the perf package. It has the 'performance suspension' which I would suspect to simply be better stock shocks and struts. Should I just take the chance and get the OEM rotors and expect them to work?

EDIT: 1LE is the performance package? yeah I dont have the 1LE as I think only 3 were made with it in my year according to this site.

I had a/c stock (removed, a/c is for pu****s), single piston front calipers. So Im feeling better now that I can afford brakes. thanks for the quick help guys/gals.
