Hi, does anyone happen to know if there is any stock style, direct bolt in, 4wheel disk brake kit's that include EVERYTHING from master cylinder to rotors? Could you get something like that from GM?
And if not what would could you expect to spend for somthing similar if you buy most parts sepratley? Thanks.

Re: COMPLETE 4wheel disk brake kit
no havent done that yet, probaly wont be tell we start driving the car. plus right now the starter is out and i need to replace that the second time...
i want to eventually swap in a ls1 rear end but i might just try a full brake tune up for now, or should i replace everthing exept rear brakes and do a ls1 brake swap?

Re: COMPLETE 4wheel disk brake kit
ok im gonna kinda steer this thread in a diffrent direction, my calipers/rotors are rusted and im assuming i can use sandpaper to remove the rust correct? what grits will i need and can i sand down the rotors while they are on the car? also for the calipers i would be using silver paint, can i use a white primer prior?

Well i went ahead and painted the calipers and WoW they look FANTASTIC! I also painted the lugs as they looked trashed, i did both in silver. iv only got done with the front so i cant wait for the rear wheels.

Re: COMPLETE 4wheel disk brake kit
no i just used regular spray paint, reason is because i already had it, it was just experimental, and the car pretty much is never driven and i will be getting new calipers when we start driving anyhow. i just wanted it to look better sitting there pretty much lol. and no i painted the lug nuts not the studs.

Re: COMPLETE 4wheel disk brake kit
The worst damage done to brake parts over time ins't visible from the outside. The worst damage is from water contaminated fluid. Brake fluid is hydroscopic and attracts moisture from the air. Over time, if not flushed regularly, the fluid becomes quite contaminated and corrosion begins to take place inside the brake system. The work you did to pretty up your brakes is all good and fine. Just be sure that you dont neglect to care for the hydraulic system as well or you could end up with brakes that look great but perform poorly. A clue can be had by inspecting your brake fluid. It should be clear. Any discoloration is moisture contamination and the resulting sediment.
