Recommend a Rear Drum-to-Disc Upgrade Kit ?
I've got an '83 Z28 running stock rear drums.
I've done plenty of mods to her but as yet haven't considered up-rating the brakes any.
I'm looking for an all-in kit - everything I'll need - to lose my drums and get discs under there.
Summit had a generic kit for 10-bolts a while back but I can't seem to find it now
???
It doesn't need to be mega-bucks - I'm not necessarily looking for big-name stuff - just something that'll work.
I don't have the option of hunting through junkyards as I'm in the U.K and junker third gens running rear discs are very few and far between.
Cheers.

The following site will have what you need, though not particularly in kit form. Check for example, the link to come:

there is an article in the tech article sections of this web site of how to put ls1 discs on your drum rear end. heres the link.
https://www.thirdgen.org/ls1reardisc
i know you dont have access to junk yards but try ebay. you could prolly piece this together from ebay cheaper than you could get a new kit for. just my . when i eventually get to that point of my project this is what ill be doing.
hope this helps

Re: Recommend a Rear Drum-to-Disc Upgrade Kit ?
i did this too on my 86 years ago, its a wuite straight forward swap, not hard at all. Im going to be doing it again soon to my 92. Only trick is the parking brake. you need custom cables, which flynbye has now, or you have to swap the entire parking brake tunnel setup from a 4th gen into the car to use the factory 4th gen cables. I used the ones from flynbye and they are quite nice.

Wilwood makes a brake kit that is a direct bolt on to the 93-02 Camaro's, and from what I've read and can tell, it would be very similar to an LS1 swap to get them onto a 3rd gen axle. Would have to take a few measurements and read more about it, but it looks promising:

Re: Recommend a Rear Drum-to-Disc Upgrade Kit ?
there is no reason that woundnt work, with some minor mods you can fit the 4th gen rear brakes right on, so that setup would work too.
800bux though, you can usually get the 4th gen 98-02 rear discs for under 100bux, and for most applications its just fine.

Re: Recommend a Rear Drum-to-Disc Upgrade Kit ?
I have that Wilwood kit. The kit is very nice. I'm not sure what parking brake cables will work with it though. I email Wilwood and they linked me to their $100+ universal kit. I will admit though that I have not looked real hard for cables yet so the solution may be easy.
The biggest thing with these brakes is that you will need an adjustable proportioning valve with them. They have a lot more power than the front brakes and I have to turn the pressure way down to keep the brakes balanced front to back.
