LS1 upgrade front flex hoses

Searching here (and other places like LukeSkaff.com or Flynbye.com) has yielded no spec on the front flex hoses needed when upgrading to the LS1 front brakes. I could order them outright from Ed Miller at Flynbye however if the parts don't fit for whatever reason, I don't wish to hassle him with a return.( He's difficult enough to reach when you want to make a purchase!) I would prefer to source locally.
The stock 3rd hoses are both too short and do not have the 90 degree hard line fitting at the banjo bolt. The stock 4th gen hoses are too short.
I'd like to keep the stock brake line bracket and location.
Somewhere I've read about a brake hose master catalouge although I can't find it on-line.
Who has done what to find these hoses?

the 1le lines are what are usually used, however, im using earls lines for the single piston front brakes on my c5 setup with no probles at all. plenty of length

Re: LS1 upgrade front flex hoses

The 1LE option for a 92 Camaro might do it then?
I'll check into that.
You bring up an interesting point with the Earl's lines though. Speculation is that Earl's (among others) have recently changed the supplier of their lines with less than satisfactory results. Buyer beware.

I sort of grouped Earl's in with a bunch of others. I did find this thread however.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...ing-brake.html

I've never done any searching to confirm. Perhaps Earl quit rather than compete.

Re: LS1 upgrade front flex hoses

if i may put in some input; the 1le lines with the ls1 fronts required me to move the line bracket on the strut up 2". the stock line fit perfectly. since i already bought them and had fluid in them there was no returning thats why i kept them. ill take pics eventually to post.

Re: LS1 upgrade front flex hoses

I used the stock 1le hoses from rockauto (pn: BH38602/3, R/L, raybestos, $12/ea). They are 21¼" length, as opposed to the stock 19". The stock will work but, they got a little to tight at full lock for my taste.

(ignore that I don't know where I put my line bracket...)

Any and all input is appreciated. I'd like to see pics too.

Do the 1LE hose have the 90 degree fitting at the banjo bolt as in the picture of the 4th gen line in the post above?

They don't but, it's not really an issue (at least, not to me).

Re: LS1 upgrade front flex hoses

Looks resonable enough.
I've just ordered the full set for a 92 Camaro with the performance brake package.

Re: LS1 upgrade front flex hoses

I had a similar problem when I needed new lines for my BAER setup. $45 each plus shipping

16" -3AN brake lines ($30)
10mm, -3AN banjo's with hardware ($12x2)
-3AN to 10MM x 1.0 inverted flare fitting ($10x2)

I saved a little, but it's nice to know I sourced all the parts myself.

Re: LS1 upgrade front flex hoses

I anticipate the 1LE lines will just bolt-in. Won't know for a week until I'm back home to try them out.
