E-Brake question.. with pictures. PBR rears
Hi,
I am a little confused how these cables i got from ED Miller are supposed to work. I took them out of the box from a while ago and do not have the part numbers for them anymore. But these cables were intended to fit my car with the brake swap i did.
Its an 86' Camaro, with LS1 front brakes, and LT1/ PBR rear brakes.
I added 3 pictures (labeled) to show you what i have going on.
These cables seem very long, are these right? I really have no clue how these are supposed to hook up.
So.. from Picture # 1.. (labeled in corner with yellow number)
Is the overall look from far away. With an arrow pointing to the cable. Hard to imagine it from the angle its resting at, but they are pretty long, longer than I think they should be, but maybe they are right. I have them hooked up the the equalizer in the tunnel already and to the first connecting point that clips in.. But there is a second clip at this end of the cable you can see in the picture.
Pic #2
Arrow is pointing to where the cable is supposed to hook up to, but how? the end (hook) on the cable does not fit over that pivoting arm in any way.. Am i missing a part here? Possibly something between that arm on the caliper and the hook on the cable?
Pic #3
Arrow pointing towards a bracket with a circular hole that could fit the second clip of the cable in perfectly, which i think it should go there.. but maybe that only on the stock setup where the caliper was on the other side of the rotor. The cable wouldnt fit the arm of the caliper if it were clipped in to this bracket.. unless again there is another piece between the hook of cable and the arm of the caliper.
Really stupid for me to ask this, but i do have the calipers on the right side of the rotor and the correct caliper on the correct side.. right?
Would really appreciate some help here
Thanks!

It appears that you're missing the parking brake bracket and spring. Check the following link for pics (post #3, #4, and #13) that may prove useful:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/faq-...iscs-89-a.html
Also, the kit Ed sells is the second design which he specifies as 90-92, which is longer than the first design. I used the first design without issue (post #4). Again check the above link for details.

The cable slips over the lever however it's not uncommon for the eyelets (square slot) in the cable to have some forging flash in them that need to be filed out to be able to slip them over.
However, looking at the pics. You are missing the cable retainer brackets

this is how it goes together w/ the cables:

awesome. Thanks you guys.. that was all very helpful. I am missing the spring and brackets as you had mentioned. Does anyone know where i can get that those?
Also if those cables are the other ones like you said from 90-92 (these were bought from Ed Miller) will I have any problem using them? Thanks

Ed or the classifieds may provide the parts you need.
