Intermittent pull / intermittent dash light
Hi guys,
My car just started doing this intermittent pull to the right thing when I step on the pedal. The brake dash light has also been coming on intermittently.
The front and rear brakes were done this past summer and were also extensively bled/flushed.
I thought it was low on fluid, but both sides are still full and this is the first time it's been checked sine the brake job.
Is this the sign that a plunger is crapping out on the master cylinder?
Thanks!

Yeah that usually means a line is bad when it starts pulling, but with new brake lines, idk, maybe just an alignment issue.

Re: Intermittent pull / intermittent dash light
The light I'm speaking of is the brake light on the left lower side of the instrument panel.
This entire problem is intermittent and may only do it once a day or 5+ times, it doesn't seem to be picky.
I can only wonder if it's one of the Master Cylinder plungers?
This is for an 89 Camaro with rear drum brakes.

Re: Intermittent pull / intermittent dash light
Did you change the rubber line on the rear?
As I always understood it - the brake light comes on for 2 reasons...
1) The Ebrake is up
2) There is a problem with pressures between the front brakes and the rears.
On you proportioning valve, there is an electrical connector - make sure it's on good, no corrosion, wire good, etc.
Maybe under my theory here, may need a new propotioning valve if replacing rubber line at rear doesn't help.
Again - this is my understanding and theory - and I'm no expert by any means. Just my thoughts. Good Luck!

From the manual:
The pressure differential warning switch is designed to constantly compare front and rear brake pressure from the master cylinder and energize the warning light on the dash in the event of a front or rear system failure. The valve and switch are so designed that the switch will latch in the "warning" position once a failure has occurred.

The front ones swelled inside and were causing the symptoms of a sticking caliper since the fluid couldn't back flow. When the first one swelled, I replaced the caliper and had the same problem, so I researched and found out about the hoses swelling after time.
The light hasn't come on for a couple days and it's not pulling now. I have no idea what's going on, but I'm thinking about replacing the master cylinder just to be safe since it's 21... A little preventative maintenance.
I'll check into changing the rear hoses since they will probably need it soon anyway.
