ok i have a grinding noise in my rear brakes of my 85 firebird. they are drum. ive have checked the front brakes to see if that was the source but its not the pads still have plenty of meat on them. i havent checked my rear drum yet. but i have to get it fixed for a 2 hour roadtrip.

 

Ok, so pull the drums off and take a look to see what you have going on. Pretty easy to see if there is a problem.

 

they grind even if i dont have my foot on the brake, it gets worse when i do

 

So what did you see when you LOOKED??

We can't see inside them from here and troubleshoot them for you, I'm afraid you'll have to get up from the computer and do some work. Sux I know, but sometimes, that's just life.

 

i havent had a chance yet because of work but i will check them tomarrow.
