quick caliper question

quick caliper question

hey im about to replace the rear pads on my 85 iroc i was wondering if it the calipers for on my iroc were either dual or single piston ones thanks.

They should be single piston, and you have to turn the piston to compress the calipers in the rear because of the parking brake

Just an FYI: There are no dual piston rear calipers on our cars. There are only single-piston iron Delco-Moraines (82-88) or single-piston alum PBR's (89+).

2, 4 or even 6 piston calipers work well up front. The rears don't need them. If you put big powerful brakes on the rear wheels your just wasting money.

Depends on what you want. I hear flynbye.com is a really good place to find custom brake setups for our cars. Try summitracing.com and jegs.com also, and read the stickies on the brake board. They are very helpful when determining fitment and pros & cons of different brake packages.
