Brake hose question

I went O'Reillys today to order new rear brake hoses for my GTA, and the guy asked me if it had the "performance package". I went ahead and said yes since it has the 350 w/ 9 bolt rear, but really I have no idea what he was referring to.

Did I order the correct ones? I didn't know there was any difference.

Re: Brake hose question

the "performance" brakes, 1le, were not even offered till 88. You dont have them. you need standard lines.

they may "work" but will be too long and may not be formed properly to fit right, especially in the rear.

Since you are talking about the rear hoses, it will be drum versus disc. Odds are you have rear disc, but really should check first.

The 1LE brakes only affect the fronts.

Yeah I have rear discs, and I assumed that's what the performance pkg was. I may just wait and try them, if they don't fit I'll take them back.

Re: Brake hose question

The performance package for the front is 1LE; however, "1LE" or "performance package" is often the designation for 89+ cars with PBR's and 11.7" rotors.

Re: Brake hose question

Anybody know how long the rear hoses are supposed to be? One of the hoses they gave me is only about 6 inches long, the other is maybe 12 inches. The numbers on the boxes are BH118547 and BH119388 (both Wagner).

I haven't crawled under the car to look yet, but I get the feeling I have the wrong hoses.
