need help about locking front brakes.
I need some help.
I have a 88 gta 5.0 l 5 speed.
the car was in storage for 2 years...it was mint brakes no pulling before i put it away...i got it out this spring and its like i have no brakes.
i touch the brake peadal and the car slams to the right hardddd and i have to grab the wheel to correct it.
i am a mechanic so i figured siezed driverside front caliper.
i bought a new one and it was siezed up a bit .
it fixed a bit of it but still doing it.
i am gonna change the other front caliper this afternoon.
could it be the brake flex hoses shrunk down and are causing this to lock even after i installed a new caliper??
could it be a prop valve is it hard to change one where is it??
i just have std front calipers...and disc brakes on the rear.
the ebrake works.
it just seems like its a seized driverside caliper even tho i changed it.
pls help

Re: need help about locking front brakes.
I made the mistake of changing both calipers as I felt there the problem lie.
Turned out it was the brake hose that was blocked and not letting fluid back out of the caliper!
Lesson : start with the easy and less expensive stuff first!
Speed.

Re: need help about locking front brakes.
agreed. such a small price to pay for safety. also check the color of your brake fluid; if its dark, it's sucked up moisture (very common) and it needs to be changed.
