Thanks for posting pics you guys. Waiting to see some one with the 5th gen brakes to see how they did it since im going that route also with the ls1 brake setup as well.

 

It's the same as what I posted. CTS-V and 5th gen uses the same caliper (except one has the v logo and the other says camaro...same brembo casting though).

 

Yeah i know the calipers are the same but i know the rotors are different but just found out ima just go with z06 rotors and sell my 5th gen stock rotors

 

Only difference in the rotors is the Z06 are drilled and the SS rotors need the center bore enlarged.

 

So i will be able to use the ss rotors then if i just bore the center hole?

Oh ok thanks since in another thread they told me the offset is different as well so that left me thinking if i could use it.

 

Ed's kit uses the SS calipers and the SS rotors with the center bore enlarged. There was a thread on here about it a while ago. I'll see if I can find it.

not the brakes themselves, but but definitely improved them!

 

LS1 fronts with d/s rotors, EBC red stuff pads and stainless lines. I couldn't be happier with this setup

 

Modded stock spindle for 1-LE
EB Miller alloy hub
13 in C4 HD rotor
C4 caliper (same as 1-LE but with the line fitting on the side instead of the bottom)









Rear drum to 12 in LS car disc

im not finished yet, but here my current upgrade. Baer 6s calipers and 14" pcs rotors, Kore3 aluminum hubs ect. all the goodies

 

Now those brakes are SWEEET!

 

not the greatest pic but ls1 brakes in the rear.... just barely clear the stock rims.... stopping power has greatly improved..

 

How much did that setup cost you? Those look like they'd make great track day brakes.

Here are a few pics of my LS1 brake upgrade

The LS1 calipers dwarf the stockers!

Last pic shows where I had to grind off some of the stock steering stop mount on the inside of the stop mount. I also had to grind off some of the banjo bolt that holds the brake line to the caliper....now the spindle assembly hits the steering stop like it is supposed to.

 

i'm looking at doing the 2010 ss brakes on my car with 18" rims...any fitment issues and are you guys having to upgrade the master cylinder/booster?

 

Nothing too special and not 100% done yet, but LS1s on Formula 16" concave wheels. Spindles were done by bigbrakeupgrade.com, rest of the parts were sourced from rock auto or Amazon.

Here's a few of my 1LE upgrades. It's not big, but it's as big as I can go :-)

 

ctsv version one brembo brakes 14" rotor and with my old wheels . car weighs 3300 lbs.
ls1 t56 a/c , full 4th gen interior, 18" wheels all around they get the job done.

i was looking into the 6piston newer design cuz it looks pimp but well see

 

Wilwood 4 piston FSL kit through flynbyeperformance.

 

Slapped this together quickly to go on my gray IROC, the stock brakes are junk..pads are worn, good excuse to swap it all (and the stock brakes look silly behind 19s), it's going on there on Monday.

 

sexy what is needed to do the c6 z06 brake swap? i currently have the the c6 z51

 

z06 calipers, pads, clips, pins and discs. Bolts up to std. C5/6 conversion brackets

 

Who's changing out their master/boosters for these? I have LS1 rears, C5 13" fronts and brakes still suck...I have an issue somewhere but havent gotten around to checking for it. Thinking master needs bench bled but my booster may not be 100% anymore. I cant tell.





18" C6 wheels. I need more brake to fill that gap Thinking CTSV 14" soon

 

Or Gen II CTS-V would be even better. Fills out an 18" pretty nice with the Z06 rotor. Or you could even fit the 14.66" CTS-V rotor inside an 18".

Don't think I've seen any drag brake setups here, so I'll post mine up. Wilwood dynalite, 4 piston calipers, front and rear.

Front rotors and hubs assembled and safety wired.

I didn't weigh the entire assembly before, but you can get the idea. The entire new assembly is lighter then just the old caliper and rotor.

Are those the 1LE rotors? I want to do the swap on my 89 but i want to keep my stock wheels.
