Mounting PBR 1LE rear brakes on LT1 brackets

I am purchasing a Strange S60 rear that comes with the LT1 backing plates. Will my '89 1LE calipers and rotors work with these backing plates? I've read that LT1 and 1LE calipers are the same.

I'm just mounting these up now, and there is about 1/8" gap between the backing plate and the caliper. I'll need to shim this for some reason, I wonder what isn't correct with my setup?

You need to center the caliper mounting bracket over the rotor. All of them are off a little either way. I used thin washers between the axle bracket and the caliper bracket. If you don't center it the rotor can rub the bracket on turns and cause a very wierd ringing noise. Ask me how I know...

OE-type shims can be seen in the following link:

Yeah in order to center it I had to use two M12 washers. I'll follow up with Strange Engineering to see why I had to do this with their LT1 backing plates.

I'm uncertain about the LT1's, but OE shims were fairly common on 90-92 ten bolts. Apparently nine-bolts didn't have them.

Probably has something to do with C-clips versus bolt-in axles.
