LS1 braided brake line

Ok I searched and came up with inconclusive results. I have a 85 IROC Z with factory 4 wheel disc brakes, I am converting to all LS1 calipers. My question is what flex line will work for me? Will stock lines work? I was thinking about these, but don't know if they will work ..they are not Chinese junk.. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ws/eBayISAPI....:X:RTQ:CA:1123

Welcome to TGO, ratnick.

IIRC, you can purchase front and rear lines (as well as the correct combination valve and parking brake cables) below:

I've seen that seller's listings before, interested as well. While I haven't seen any feedback from 3rd gen owners, I did find a few other buyers had fit issues here and there. Most issues were resolved, but it did take a few tries to get it right. I may give it a shot since my TA's not my daily driver yet. Ed's (JamesC's link) sets work great right out of the box, but will set you back a few bucks.

for the front i just reused my 3rd gen braided hoses from earls, just bought new copper washers for the banjo nut. For the rear, the metal hard line is the same as thirdgens, so you'd just need a braided line kit for a 4th gen.

Ok, So I went ahead and bought these. They are a fine product but they do not replace the factory ones. There is no way to for it to sit tightly in place where it connects to the hard line, and there is no mounting point in the center of the hose like the factory line. Waste of money, I ordered a set from ebmiller..

Re: LS1 braided brake line

I had mine fabricated locally at a hydraulic hose shop. I brought the flex lines with me and told them what I wanted and what they were to fit. I even had a 90* fitting added on the rear caliper lines to reduce the amount of bend it would have had without it. They cost me abut $50 each and were made while I waited.

My hard line isn't hooked up yet in this pic, but you can see the 90* fitting on the far side.

The line prior to install, it's about the same length as the stock LS1 rubber line.
