I went looking through old posts and i'm looking for any NEW info on replacement rotors for my 12.? rotors on the front of the 87. The ones i have are getting stress cracks from open track days and i'd like to find some replacements if they are available. the ones that Baer sells are $177 each and they are made in china.....maybe they didn't used to be, but they are now....are there stock corvette replacement ones with the same thickness...or am i stuck buying the baer ones. thanks pat

 

Perhaps you can find a similar disk from one of the circle track companies like Coleman. What is the thickness and mounting style of your rotors?

Is this a 1 or 2 pc rotor? If its 2 pc, measue the diameter thickness and hat bolt pattern and order the friction rings from.where ever. If its a 1pc, I really doubt baer makes their own rotors and they may be c4 vette parts

 

this is a one peice rotor ...i was hoping somebody would say- yeah just go to NAPA and get some c-4 rotors....i might go buy one and give it a try- they would take it back if it didn't work, i buy allot of stuff there....was hoping somebody had already tried this exercise!

 

Ah, I assumed a two piece. So take some measurements and I'm sure we can figure it out.

Diameter?
Friction disc thickness?
Total height?

C4 rotors are only 0.81" thick. I doubt Baer uses those. And C4HD rotors are 13" diameter.

I assume you have Baer's track kit? They use the C4HD rotors turned down to 12in. I used to run that kit, it was kind of a pain finding someone to turn the rotors down every time.

Depending on what wheels you run you could get different brackets and run them at the full 13in.

i don't know if this is the track kit or i think it may be the next one down. i remeber the rotors were 12.??inches....probably i'll just suck it up and go see baer....

 

I have a few sets of C4 HD rotors laying around. Why don't you measure you rotor thickness and total height. Then we'll be able to tell for sure.

 

I would guess that they are the c4hd rotors cut down to 12 in. You could order them from autozone and then have a shop cut them down for you.
