rebuilding PBR rear caliper (LT1)??
I need to take my calipers apart to have them powder coated and they havent moved in over 3 years so I will need to have them rebuild with new parts. Can anyone here guide me in the right direction on where I can obtain quality parts for these calipers? PBR LT1 rear calipers.
I dont want the crap that is at the local auto parts stores either.

Re: rebuilding PBR rear caliper (LT1)??
You know, I have been a member here for a LONG time and I never liked the way this sites search function worked. Why does a google search offer me more hits on TGO then the actual search option on here? Apparently PBR isnt a searchable "word".
I found some info through google and will look into it. If anyone wants to chime in here thats fine but I think I found what I need. Thanks to google

So true So true about the search engine here.
I'm sure you found these links yourself..

http://discbrakesrus.com/
Have you tried the local dealer?

I need kit number D352746 and it seems that the kit is no longer available. I tried Advance here in town as well as their website. I also tried Amazon and Rockauto and both say not available. The guy at Rockauto said it might be a few months before they get more! Next place is the dealer but I bet I should lube my $ss before I go in.

This is what you need right

I think the same when I need customers parts. Dealer is my last resort. SOMETIMES ive found little stuff like this cheaper from a dealer vs napa , etc..

Yes that is the kit I need. 2 of them.
I just called the dealer and the rebuild kit is no longer available. The caliper itself is also no longer available from GM. They said to try a junkyard!!!

Because Google spent billions of dollars to hire some of the smartest people in the world to invent secret patented state of the art data bases and search functions. How much do you think TGO spent?

Re: rebuilding PBR rear caliper (LT1)??
I still have not found this kit so I am reassembling my calipers with the old parts to get my car done.
All the parts have been cleaned but I now need advice on which components will require lubricant. I know the guide pins will get it as well as the pivot bolt for the E brake but what about the actual piston inside the caliper? The bore inside the caliper has a rubber O ring resesed into the wall around the piston. Does this O ring get a slight coating of lubricant? I was planing on using Sil Glyde.

Re: rebuilding PBR rear caliper (LT1)??
There is only one o ring per caliper and in my case, both of them are in good shape. I cleaned them up and then reinstalled them without any issues. When the kit becomes available, I will take my calipers apart and rebuild them.

Re: rebuilding PBR rear caliper (LT1)??
I know this post is a couple months old but I can help. There is a kit available to rebuild the rear calipers from acdelco. I just got done rebuilding mine. I was able to get a kit that had all the parts to do the rebuild. I dont have the part #'s handy right now but I will get them for you if you still want to do the rebuild. I was able to buy my kits from KOI auto parts. Let me know if you want the part #'s.
