New here, need help with front brakes
Hey everyone I'm new here, just bought my 87 trans am GTA today. Got it home after a hour or so long drive and noticed that the front brakes are sticking really bad/locked up just when I got home. I was about a mile from my house on a back road so I decided to open her up and see what she had, really fast by the way
but then when I hit the brakes a little to start slowing down I noticed that my brake petal felt like it was welded in place. The pedal loosened up but my brakes were still locked, now I can't even move the car from the drive way because of the brakes. Anyway, if you think you know whats goin on I'd appreciate the help
Also the car pulls to the right pretty hard whenever I brake, guy I bought it from said it was the brake pads, what do you think???

Re: New here, need help with front brakes
Welcome to TGO, ealyboy.
Typical symptom of a failed brake hose.
Acting as a check valve, the hose(s) may also be responsible for pushing the pads against the rotor and locking them in place. They may release overnight.

Re: New here, need help with front brakes
Hey thanks JamesC, after looking at the left wheel/caliber, I realized that was the only one that locked up. I'm thinking that the hose on that one was bad, causing the caliber to not even engage, which would explain why the car pulled to the right. What do you think? (The caliber released its pressure after I bled the it)

I'd replace both front hoses.

Re: New here, need help with front brakes
I had same problem, after all these years inside of hoses releases material that makes your brakes fail.
New steel braided hoses is an excellent way to go as an update and to cure the problem
