Brake problem. Need advice

The other day I was driving my car on the highway and hit traffic. Stop and go stop and go. Then I hit the gas to go, and felt restriction. I knew that my brakes seized up(this has never happened to me). I was able to get off the highway and park. Noticed smoke coming from the front wheel wells. After about 45 minutes, I put the car in neutral and physically observed the front discs spin freely. I drove my car home with no problem. A friend suggested I do a brake flush. Is this correct? Is this all I should look into. I know I need the brake lines that have a bolt that connects to the strut. Don't know what they're called, or the length. But I would like to change them.

Brake hoses. Change both. The rubber can break down internally and act like a one-way valve, locking the caliper, then bleed off and unlock eventually like nothing happened. Do the fluid flush too, the old stuff is probably full of dissolved rubber - hows it look - all black? Caliper and mc seals may not be far behind.

Do this immediately before driving it again, you may be close to blowing a hose out and losing brakes altogether.
