Rear caliper mounting brackets

I'm buying a ford 9" rear end for my firebird, and the manufacturers only option to fit this housing for f body disc breaks is 93-02. I can get calipers, discs, pads, lines but no parts store nor gm dealers can order the mounting brackets. Any clues, besides rummaging through salvage yard, on where I can find a set?

89-97 are almost the same, some small changes but they pretty much all interchange.

I did this back in the early 90s, not hard at all. Good luck with your swap.

TTop, this isn't a break question but since you've already done a 9" rear end swap, what's difference in 28 & 31 spline axels? I'm gonna be mostly street, and the strip just once in awhile.

3.

If you can get the 31 spline, I don't think there is a cost difference so a little extra strength with the 31s are good.

Re: Rear caliper mounting brackets

I ordered a Ford 9 inch 31 spline rear end today, can't wait to get it installed.
I've had to do a lot of searching online and also calling auto parts stores and GM dealers for the information I needed. So I figured I would list a few parts that I've gotten, in case someone else with a third GEN is wanting to upgrade their car. Hopefully this will save them some time on gathering info if they come across this threat.

Ford 9" rear end housing and axles http://www.quickperformance.com/QP-G...xles_p_40.html

Ford 9" inch third member (you need to send a message to this eBay seller and let him know what vehicle this is going on so he can install the correct yoke for your application) http://m.ebay.com/itm/151246978645?nav=VI
Rear caliper mounting brackets for 93-02 F body disc breaks http://m.ebay.com/itm/231091413647

93 Trans Am calipers, pads, rotors, rubber brake lines- O'Reilly's auto-parts (I always use O'Reilly but I'm sure you can get these items at any parts store)

Now I'm not sure about the metal brake lines but if it comes down to it and I need to get some bent, here's who I will use: Right Stuff http://www.getdiscbrakes.com

I need to double check my measurements but if everything is right like I think it is, here's the wheels and tires I will be ordering: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/wld-791b-510284
http://m.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-3755r

Traction bars http://www.summitracing.com/parts/la...w/make/pontiac

Shocks http://www.summitracing.com/parts/la...w/make/pontiac

Sub frame connectors (make sure that if you are going to be running headers that you order these connectors because the connectors for a stock engine application will not fit). http://m.summitracing.com/parts/BMR-SFC008H

Transmission http://performabuilt.com/level-2.html

That's it for now, I will add more details as I move further in my project
